4月3日 Have and Have gotHi! everybody
Today, I have some freetime from my job, a tutor which,in fact, isn't a job. I spent my little free time on English Grammar In Use (Intermediat level) which I bought from Book Fair on last Saturday. I've gotten new knowledge, " have and have got ". I am going to tell about it now!.
In the meanning of possesion
In this case, both word can use with the same grammar in the present tense. For example, I have / have got a new car. However,in the past tense, we can use only have not have got. Furthermore, with this meaning, we can't use continuous form; for example, we're enjoying on the travel trip. we have / have got a nice room.
In the meaning of show some action or experience
In this case, we can use only have for showing the action. For instance, I wake up at 1 pm. then I have a shower.<----- We can't use have got a shower. the next example will demonstrate obviously how are have and have got different.
1. I usually have a sandwich for my lunch.
2. I have got sandwiches for my lunch.Do you want to try one ?
In the second example, I have two or three sandwiches not eat sandwich.
